CHEHALEM has been a Rareheron client since 1999, when we took over maintenance of an existing site. We updated the site's structure in early 2005 to improve navigation and take advantage of then-new technologies, but keeping the intent of the old design. By 2011, the site's 1999 design was feeling quite dated and it was time to re-visit the content and navigation once again.
We know owner Harry Peterson-Nedry likes to pack in a lot of information on his pages, while his marketing manager likes a cleaner, lighter look. The result is an overall design that is much lighter than the old site. On the home page we used Project VII's Horizontal Glider Magic panels to rotate beautiful large pictures of the vineyards behind collapsible panels of text information on the right — a great example of how newer technologies can give you the best of both worlds. The result is a homepage still rich in text content but with a lighter, more airy look.
Rareheron also designed an email template for this client, which they use to announce specials and events.
